Who may enrol

Hong Kong residents born in the years 1942 to 1957 can join the Programme.

To join the Programme, eligible persons should fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Aged between 50 and 75
  2. Hold a valid Hong Kong Identity Card or Certificate of Exemption
  3. Registered in the Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS) (please visit www.ehealth.gov.hk for details)
  4. Do not have symptoms of colorectal cancer, higher colorectal cancer risk, or screening/examination for colorectal cancer within a specified period (To learn more, please click here)

Eligible persons will be recruited in phases:

  1. Phase 1: individuals aged between 61 and 75
  2. Phase 2: Individuals aged between 56 and 75
  3. Phase 3: Individuals aged between 50 and 75

To facilitate public understanding of the eligibility for joining the Programme, the Department of Health will announce the arrangements for eligible age groups and their years of birth regularly.

The First Phase has been launched. From now until 31 December 2018, Hong Kong residents aged 61 to 75 years (born in the years 1942 to 1957) can join the Programme.

Eligible persons born in the year 1942 must join the Programme on or before 31 December 2018; or else, the upper age limit (i.e. the age of 75) for joining the Programme will be exceeded.
