Medical practitioner can participate in the Programme as an enrolled Colonoscopy Specialist (CS) for providing the “Standard Package of Colonoscopy Service" if he/she:

1. Is a registered medical practitioner within the meaning of the Medial Registration Ordinance (Cap161);
2. Is a registered specialist of Gastroenterology & Hepatology or a registered specialist of General Surgery in the Specialist Register under that Ordinance;
3. Holds a valid annual practising certificate issued under that Ordinance;
4. Works in the private sector (including university and non-governmental organisations); and
5. Has enrolled in the Electronic Health Record Sharing System (eHRSS) and the Primary Care Directory*

* Prerequisite for Government-subsidised Primary Healthcare Programmes

The Government requires doctor participating in Government subsidised primary healthcare programmes, including inter alia, the Colorectal Cancer Screening Programme (CRCSP), to be enlisted in the Primary Care Directory with effect from 6 October 2023.
