Receiving the Participant's Pack
Your PCD will provide you with a Participant’s Pack which includes:
- Two FOBT tubes
- Two small plastic bags
- One instruction sheet for specimen collection
- One large plastic bag with the laboratory request form attached
- One Participant Guidebook
You should:
- Check and agree with your PCD on how you will be contacted especially for communicating an abnormal FOBT result.
- Collect stool specimens within 8 weeks of the date of issue of the Participant’s Pack and return them together to a Specimen Collection Point.
- Finish collection of stool specimens within 4 days counting from the day of first stool specimen collection and return both specimens to a designated Specimen Collection Point as soon as possible.
- Still return specimen to a designated Specimen Collection Point, whether or not you are able to finish two stool specimen collections within 4 days counting from the day of first stool specimen collection.
- Contact your PCD if:
- you have queries about stool specimen collection; or
- the original FOBT tubes are lost or damaged so that the PCD may re-issue another two FOBT tubes to you without extra charges.
- Note that, if the original FOBT tubes are rejected by laboratory for analysis, the PCD will contact you to issue another two FOBT tubes without extra charges.
