Scope of service provision
The workflow of enrolled PCD will be divided into two parts, namely:
- First consultation to all participants; and
- Second consultation for participants with a positive FIT result.
First consultation
In the Programme, the enrolled PCD is responsible for providing the first consultation which will include:
- enrolling participant into the Programme;
- assessing the suitability of persons intending to enrol into the programme;
- providing screening education; and
- prescribing a participant’s pack* (containing 2 FIT tubes and related materials).
The enrolled PCD should also support the participant through the screening pathway by:
- answering enquiries related to the screening pathway; and
- re-issuing Participant’s Pack for lost, damaged or spoiled tubes; and
- informing the participant of the result of FIT testing.
*The laboratory service fee will be borne by the Government
Second consultation
With a FIT positive result, the enrolled PCD should call back the participant for a second consultation at which the enrolled PCD should explain the implication of the FIT positive result as well as refer the participant to an enrolled Colonoscpy Specialist under the Programme for colonoscopy assessment .
